Pelosi Admits Knowing in 2003

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi acknowledged that she had learned about CIA waterboarding tactics in February 2003, when a staff member informed her that top members of Congress had been briefed on the issue. Despite admitting to knowing about waterboarding back in 2003,Pelosi argued that she did not disclose or publicize the information due to secrecy rules. In making such a statement, she attempts to evade responsibility, by essentially claiming a lack of control. Previously, Pelosi had denied any knowledge of waterboarding, as well as attacked her accusers by claiming that the CIA lied to Congress by providing inaccurate and incomplete information.
